To install the Monoprice 34707 Caliber Slim In-Ceiling Speakers, follow these steps:
1. Determine the installation location and ensure there is enough space between the desired location and adjacent studs or framing members.
2. Use the provided installation template to mark the cut lines on the wall or ceiling.
3. Drill a small hole in the middle of the cutout area to check for hidden obstructions behind the wall.
4. Cut along the marked cut lines using a drywall or keyhole saw.
5. Prepare your speaker wire by stripping about 1/4" of insulation from the end and twisting it to prevent stray strands.
6. Route the speaker wire from the back of your amplifier or receiver, through the wall or ceiling, to the installation location.
7. Remove the grille from the speaker by inserting a paper clip or the included grille removal tool into one of the holes and pulling to lift it off the frame.
8. Connect the positive and negative leads of the speaker wire to the corresponding push terminals on the back of the speaker.
9. Give a gentle tug on each lead to ensure they are securely connected.
10. Position the speaker into the hole and use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the mounting screws, turning the mounting tabs outward until the speaker is secure. Avoid over-tightening the screws.
11. Power off and unplug your amplifier or receiver.
12. Connect the amplifier end of the speaker wire to one of the speaker level outputs on your amplifier, matching the polarity markings on the wire or plugs.
13. Replace the grille on the speaker.
14. Your speaker is now installed and ready for use.
