To connect the Tripp Lite U438-CF-SATA-5G SATA Reader or SSD Reader to your computer, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure your computer, laptop, or tablet has an available USB-A or USB-C port, depending on the device and model.
2. Connect the built-in USB-A or USB-C plug on the Tripp Lite U438-CF-SATA-5G to the USB-A or USB-C port on your computer.
3. If you want to use a CFast memory card, insert it into the appropriate port on the device.
4. If you want to connect a SATA drive, insert it into the appropriate port on the device. Make sure to keep the drive at a low angle to minimize stress on the connector.
5. Once connected, your device is ready for use. When individually connected, a blue LED will illuminate when the CFast card is recognized, while a red LED will illuminate when the SATA drive is recognized. Both blue and red LEDs will illuminate when both ports are used simultaneously.
Please note that a USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) port is required to achieve maximum data transfer rates. Also, make sure to properly eject the drive from your computer before unplugging the adapter to avoid any potential data loss.
