To connect the GEFEN EXT-DIGAUD-141 Digital Audio Extender, please follow these steps:
1. Connect your digital audio source's outputs to the Digital Audio Extender sender unit's audio inputs using either a TOSLINK or S/PDIF cable. Refer to the "Panel Layout" section on page 4 of the user manual for a list of connectors on the units.
2. Connect the sender and receiver units to each other using a single CAT5 cable. Plug one end of the CAT5 cable into the RJ45 jack on the sender unit and the other end into the RJ45 jack on the receiver unit.
3. Connect your digital audio receiver or digital audio speaker system to the Digital Audio Extender receiver unit using a TOSLINK or S/PDIF cable. You can plug the cable into either the S/PDIF or TOSLINK outputs on the receiver unit, or both if needed. The receiver unit can output TOSLINK and S/PDIF signals simultaneously.
4. Power on your audio sources and audio playback system. Plug the included 5-volt DC power supply into the Digital Audio Extender sender unit. The red LED on the receiver unit should light up, indicating a successful connection. If the LED does not light up, double-check all connections and try again. Once the sender and receiver are successfully powered and connected, you should hear pristine digital audio on your audio playback equipment connected to the receiver unit.
For a visual reference of the connectors and their positions on the sender and receiver units, please refer to the "Panel Layouts" section on page 4 of the user manual.
