The StarTech.com VS221HD4K HDMI switch offers multiple ways to switch between HDMI sources.
1. Automatic operation: The switch features automatic operation, which means it can automatically detect and switch to the active HDMI source. When you turn on a device or connect a new device, the switch will automatically change to that source.
2. Priority operation: The switch also offers priority operation. Port 1 and Port 2 have different priorities. When you turn on the higher prioritized video source device (Port 1), that source will automatically be selected. Turning off the device will automatically switch back to the lower prioritized video source (Port 2).
3. Manual operation with a selection button: On the front of the switch, there is an input selection button. Press this button to toggle between each video source device. The active port LED indicator will light up to indicate which port is selected.
4. Manual operation with the remote control: The switch comes with a remote control. Press the "1" or "2" button on the remote control to switch between HDMI ports in1 or in2, respectively.
5. Manual operation with serial control: If you want to use serial control, you can configure the settings on your computer's serial port. Set the baud rate to 38400 bps, data bits to 8, parity to none, stop bits to 1, and flow control to none. Open your terminal software and use the on-screen commands displayed to operate and configure your switch.
