To activate your MG7315 cable modem and router, follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have subscribed to cable Internet service.
2. Connect your MG7315 to a live coax cable using a coax cable or a coax wall jack.
3. Power up your MG7315 by turning on the On/Off button and wait for the green online connection light to stop flashing and remain solidly lit (this may take up to 15 minutes).
4. Have your recent cable bill handy as it contains your account number.
5. Depending on your service provider, you can activate by calling them or opening the web browser of a computer or Wi-Fi device connected to the MG7315.
6. If using a computer, open the web browser and follow the activation instructions provided by your service provider.
7. If using a Wi-Fi device, enter the unique Wireless Network Name and Password printed on the bottom of your MG7315 to connect to the MG7315. Then open the web browser of that wireless device and follow the activation instructions provided by your service provider.
8. For Comcast XFINITY users, if the activation page does not appear, visit www.xfinity.com/internetsetup for more information and to activate your modem.
9. Once activated, your service provider will provision your MG7315 service, which typically takes less than 5 minutes.
10. Test your internet connection by browsing the web using a device connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi to the MG7315. If browsing works, your MG7315 is working properly.
