1. Gather the necessary tools: You will need a keyhole or drywall saw, a Phillips screwdriver, masking tape, a pencil, a bubble or laser level, a tape measure, and a stud finder (recommended).
2. Plan your speaker placement: Make sure there are no electrical, plumbing, or other services that will interfere with the ceiling where you plan to place the speakers. The AS8C speakers are typically used in ceilings and should be located to provide even coverage at your listening position.
3. Determine the mounting location: Use a stud finder to locate the joists behind the ceiling surface. Check for obstructions like cross bracing in front of and behind the desired speaker location. Mark the hole to be cut out using the provided template.
4. Cut the hole: If you are unsure about obstructions, cut a small hole in the center of the marked mounting location to check. Use a drywall saw to cut a square hole at a 90-degree angle to the ceiling surface. Cover the raw edges of the wallboard with masking tape to prevent loose gypsum dust from blowing out.
5. Run speaker wire: Use UL-rated CL3 speaker wire and avoid running it parallel to 110V power lines to prevent interference. Crossings at a right angle are acceptable.
6. Stuff the cavity with insulation (optional): To enhance the speaker's performance, you can stuff the ceiling joist cavity with fiberglass insulation. This helps prevent unwanted transfer of sound.
7. Connect the speaker wire: Connect the positive and negative terminals of the speaker wire to the corresponding terminals on the AS8C speaker.

9. Aim the tweeter: Use gentle pressure to swivel the tweeter to aim the axis towards the listening area. This can be done by using a piece of music with a solid center image vocalist to assist in correctly aiming the tweeter.
10. Painting the speaker (optional): Use the provided paint shields to protect the speakers and paint the frame to match your wall surface if desired. Be cautious not to clog the perforated openings in the grill with paint.
