To connect the Valcom V-1222 One Way Amplified Dual Input Wall Speaker to a page control system, you will need the following equipment: an appropriate one-way speaker assembly, a page control unit, and a power supply. Here are the steps to make the connections:
1. Make sure the power supply is sized correctly to provide power to operate the amplified speaker assembly and the page control unit.
2. Connect the appropriate one-way speaker assembly to the page control unit. Refer to Figure 5 in the user manual for the required connections.
3. If you are using the V-1222 speaker with a handsfree page control unit, it is recommended to connect a V-1092 Volume Control between the zone output and the speaker input. This will lower the signal level to the one-way speakers and prevent overdriving of inputs.
4. Ensure that you have the proper audio sources for the dual inputs of the V-1222 speaker. The inputs can accept audio signals from sources such as a microphone, telephone system, background music, or other audio devices.
5. Follow the wiring specifications provided in Tables 1 and 2 of the user manual when planning your speaker system. Use six conductor wire, standard 22 or 24 gauge station wire is acceptable. Shielded wire is not required or recommended.
6. Mount the V-1222 speaker on the wall at the desired location. The ideal mounting height is 8 to 12 feet above floor level.
