To install the Amazon Basics AB-DH523-MB Exterior Door xxxx , please follow the steps outlined in the user manual:

Step 1: Mark Door
- Tape the provided template onto the interior side of the door at the desired height.
- Measure the thickness of the door and mark the appropriate hole size for the lock body.
- Mark the hole location for the backset.

Step 2: Drill Holes
- Drill a 2-1/8" hole through the door face for the lock body.
- Drill a 1" hole in the center of the door edge for the latch.

Step 3: Install Latch Plate
- Insert the latch into the hole and outline the faceplate with a pencil.
- Chisel the door edge until the latch face is flush.
- Insert the latch and tighten the screws.

Step 4: Install Striker Plate
- Partially close the door with the latch assembly inside the door jamb.
- Mark the top and bottom of the latch plate on the door face.
- Measure inward from the door stop and mark the hole locations for the striker plate.
- Drill a 1" hole and chisel a shallow recess for the strike plate.
- Install the strike plate and tighten the screws.

Step 5: Install Exterior Mechanism
- Insert the xxxx with the spindle into the latch, ensuring the stems are positioned correctly.
- Press the xxxx flush against the door.

Step 6: Install Interior Mechanism
- Slide the interior xxxx over the spindle and align the xxxx holes with the stems.
