To set up the iRobot R890020 Robot Vacuum, follow these steps:
1. Position the Home Base: Place the Home Base in an open, uncluttered area with at least 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) on each side, 4 feet (1.2 meters) in front, and 8 feet (2.4 meters) away from Virtual Wall Barriers. Ensure it is in an area with consistent Wi-Fi coverage.
2. Download the iRobot HOME App: Download the iRobot HOME App on your smartphone or tablet. This app allows you to control and schedule the vacuum.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the instructions in the app to connect the vacuum to your Wi-Fi network.
4. Remove Battery Pull Tabs: Turn the robot over and remove the bin insert and battery pull tabs. Place the robot on the Home Base to activate the battery.
5. Charge the Battery: The robot comes with a partial battery charge, but it is recommended to fully charge it before the first cleaning cycle. Allow Roomba to charge on the Home Base for 3 hours.
6. Prepare the Cleaning Area: Before starting a cleaning cycle, remove excess clutter from the floors, such as clothing or toys.
7. Start Cleaning: Press the CLEAN button on the robot or in the iRobot HOME App to begin a cleaning cycle. The robot will navigate and clean the designated area.
8. Monitor and Control: Use the iRobot HOME App to monitor the cleaning progress, schedule automatic cleaning cycles, and customize cleaning preferences.
