To cook rice in the Cuisinart CRC-400 4 Cup Rice Cooker, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the rice cooker is unplugged.
2. Place the cooking pot into the stainless steel housing.
3. Measure the desired amount of raw rice using the measuring cup provided. Rinse the rice if needed.
4. Add water to the rice according to the recommended ratios in the "Cooking Rice Chart" provided in the user manual. You can either use the measuring cup provided for rice and measure the appropriate amount of water using a standard liquid measuring cup, or use the water line inside the cooking pot.
5. Cover the cooking pot with the lid, making sure the steam vent is facing toward the back of the unit.
6. Plug in the unit.
7. Set the switch to the "Cook" position by pressing it down. The "Cook" LED light will be illuminated.
8. The rice cooker will heat and cook the rice. The cooking time will vary depending on the amount and type of rice or grain being cooked.
9. Once the rice is cooked, the unit will automatically switch to the "Warm" setting and the "Warm" LED light will be illuminated. The unit will stay in "Warm" mode until it is unplugged from the outlet.
10. For best texture, allow the cooked rice to rest in "Warm" mode for 5-10 minutes.
11. Once you are ready to serve the rice, lift the lid away from you.
12. Fluff the rice with the paddle or a utensil suitable for nonstick cookware.
13. Lift and remove the cooking pot from the rice cooker using potholders.
Please refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions and cooking charts for different types of rice and grains.
