To clean the Hessaire MC18 Mobile Evaporative Cooler, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the cooler from the power source before attempting any maintenance or routine service.
2. NEVER remove any access panels while the cooler is in operation to avoid serious injury.
3. Cleaning the Cooler and Rigid Media Pads:
- The removable panel(s) and pads can be gently sprayed off to remove build-up. A soft bristle brush can also be used.
- NEVER spray water directly on the pads while the cooler is in operation as it can damage the motor and void the warranty.
- Vinegar is recommended for cleaning the cooler and can be periodically cycled through during normal use.
4. Removal of Back Panel:
- Disconnect the power supply and remove the two Phillips screws from the upper back side of the cooler.
- Pull out the top of the back panel to remove it.
5. Removal of Rigid Media:
- Once the back panel is removed, the media pads will be accessible.
- Some pads may be held in place with pins (media keepers) which need to be removed to free up the pads.
6. Storage:
- Drain the tank and wipe it dry. The plug is located on the bottom of the cooler.
- Ensure the pads are dry by running the fan without the pump for at least 30 minutes.
