To install the MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard, follow these steps:
1. Prepare your PC case: Ensure that your PC case is compatible with the ATX form factor of the motherboard. Remove the side panel of the case to access the internal components.
2. Mount the motherboard: Place the motherboard on the standoffs in the case, aligning the xxxx holes on the motherboard with the standoffs. Use screws to secure the motherboard to the case, ensuring it is firmly in place.
3. Connect power cables: Connect the main 24-pin ATX power connector from the power supply to the corresponding connector on the motherboard. Additionally, connect the 8-pin CPU power connector to the designated connector on the motherboard.
4. Install the CPU: Refer to the CPU installation instructions in the user manual. Lift the CPU socket lever, align the CPU notches with the socket alignment keys, and gently place the CPU into the socket. Close the socket lever to secure the CPU in place.
5. Install the CPU cooler: Attach the CPU cooler according to the manufacturer's instructions. This typically involves applying thermal paste to the CPU, placing the cooler on top, and securing it with screws or clips.
6. Install RAM modules: Refer to the user manual for the recommended RAM installation slots. Open the DIMM slots by pushing down the latches on both sides. Align the notch on the RAM module with the key in the slot and firmly press it down until the latches lock into place.
7. Connect storage devices: Connect your storage devices, such as SSDs or HDDs, to the SATA ports on the motherboard using SATA cables. If you have an M.2 SSD, refer to the manual for the appropriate slot and installation procedure.
8. Connect case connectors: Connect the front panel connectors from your PC case, including power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, and power LED, to the corresponding headers on the motherboard. Refer to the manual for the exact pin layout.
9. Connect peripherals: Connect your peripherals, such as keyboard, mouse, and monitor, to the appropriate ports on the motherboard, such as USB, HDMI, or DisplayPort.
10. Connect power and start the system: Connect the power supply cables to the motherboard and other components. Double-check all connections to ensure they are secure. Finally, connect the power cord to the power supply and turn on the system.
