Cleaning the Bonavita BV1901TS Connoisseur Coffee Maker is important to maintain its performance and ensure flavorful beverages. Here are the steps to clean the coffee maker:
1. Always unplug the coffee brewer before cleaning.
2. Clean the carafe, filter basket, and brewer lid with a soft, damp cloth and mild dish-cleaning liquid. Rinse thoroughly.
3. The filter basket, brewer lid, and carafe lid can be cleaned on the top rack of the dishwasher.
4. Periodically run coffee machine cleaning powder through your brewer. Follow the instructions included with your product purchase.
5. To descale the brewer, use a good quality biodegradable and phosphate-free coffee machine cleaning powder. Descaling is recommended after every 100 brew cycles or once every three months.
6. Vinegar is not recommended for descaling as it may not effectively remove mineral build-up and can leave behind an odor.
7. For the stainless steel-lined carafe, use coffee machine cleaning powder to remove stubborn stains like lime or coffee residue. Do not use scrubbing pads or hard-bristled brushes.
8. Do not clean the thermal carafe in a dishwasher or immerse it completely in water.
9. If the carafe sustains a heavy impact or shows signs of leakage, check for cracks or damage before using.
