It is recommended to clean the filters of the Survivor Filter L610 Portable Water Filter Pump after every use. Cleaning the three filters (Pre-Filter, Carbon Filter, and Ultra Filter) after each trip greatly extends their life. To clean the filters, you can use the provided back-washing syringe. Fill the syringe with clean water or a 1:1 vinegar to water ratio and attach it to the Pre-Filter or Ultra Filter tip. Push the clean water from the syringe through the filter to dislodge any trapped particles. Repeat as necessary. For the Carbon Filter, soak it in clean water for 15 minutes and shake out the excess water. Remember to air dry the filters for a minimum of 24 hours after cleaning to prevent moisture accumulation during storage. It is important to never clean the carbon filter with anything except water.
