To switch between forehead and ear mode on the Hugum-IR100 Medical Forehead and Ear Thermometer, please follow the steps below:
1. Press the "measure button" (power icon) to turn on the device. The LCD display screen may initially show "Lo" when the device is first opened, which is normal. Wait until the temperature light stops flashing before proceeding.
2. To use the thermometer in forehead mode, press the "measure button" to scan your forehead. Ensure that the measurement distance between your forehead and the thermometer is no greater than 0.4 inches. The thermometer will emit a loud beep after obtaining the readings.
3. To switch to ear mode, follow the appropriate instructions based on the age group:
- For children under 1 year old: Pull the ear straight back.
- For children aged 1 year to adult: Pull the ear up and back.
4. If you need to retake the temperature measurement, wait for 5 to 10 seconds between each measurement and do not operate until the temperature light turns off (followed by a brief beep).
