To set the cooking time and temperature on the Hamilton Beach 33473 Slow Cooker, follow these steps:
1. Plug the slow cooker into an electrical outlet.
2. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the slow cooker. The default cooking time is 4 hours on HIGH.
3. To select the desired cooking temperature, press the TEMP button. You can choose between HIGH, LOW, or WARM settings. Note that the WARM setting should not be used to cook or reheat food.
4. Adjust the cooking time by pressing the HOURS button. You can select 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 hours of cooking time. The cooking time will count down in 2-hour increments.
5. The cooking temperature and selected cooking hours function independently of each other, and you can change either setting at any time. When you select a new cooking time, the unit will reset to count down from the new number of hours chosen.
6. As a safety precaution, the slow cooker will not stay on for more than 14 hours of continuous cooking and warming time. It will automatically shut off after this time.
7. The selected cooking time will glow for 2 hours. After 2 hours, the next 2-hour light will glow and continue the countdown until the cooking time is complete.
8. At the end of the cooking time, the slow cooker will automatically switch to the WARM setting. The WARM light will glow to show how much time is remaining within the 14-hour limit.
Please refer to the user manual for additional information and safety precautions.
