The installation process for the Lanzar OPTIMC80 Motorcycle Speaker Amplifier System is outlined in the user manual provided with the product. Here are the steps to install the system:
1. Install the "P" shaped clamp or "Z" shaped clamp onto the bottom of each speaker enclosure using the provided bolts.
2. Bolt each speaker with its mount to the handlebar of your motorcycle. The hardware included allows for mounting on handlebars with a diameter of 1 inch or smaller. Adjust the speaker position for optimal listening level.
3. Secure the speaker wires either through the handlebars for a custom look or use wire ties to secure them to the handlebars.
4. Bolt the rotary volume control to the handlebars using the provided hardware. Run the 3.5 mm connection down to the desired amplifier location and secure it with wire ties. Make sure the 3.5 mm male connection is close to the mount.
5. If you have an American motorcycle, you can use the pre-installed connector on the amplifier wire harness. For metric or universal vehicles, follow the instructions in the manual to replace the harness with the provided terminals/connectors. Make sure to match the proper polarity for all connections.
6. Bolt the Universal Handlebar MP3/Audio Mount using the provided black industrial velcro adhesive strips. Remove the bolt from the existing switch housing on your motorcycle and secure the mount bracket.
7. If you have the PLMCA60 model, bolt the USB Charger/Power Source using the vehicle-provided hardware. Connect this wire to a 12 Volt power source.
8. Run the wires up to the neck area of your motorcycle and plug them into the harness. Use wire ties to secure them to the frame.
9. Bolt the amplifier onto your motorcycle using the provided bolt. It is best to mount it directly to the frame, away from direct heat or crash bars.
10. Attach the Velcro strips to the Universal Bracket and your MP3 player/audio source.
11. Connect the 3.5mm male connection into your audio device and the opposite side into the Micro Amplifier.
