To connect the Power Acoustik RZ4‐2000DSPB DSP Class D Full Range Amplifiers to your car's power and ground, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the ground cable of the battery before making any power connections.
2. Use 8 gauge or larger automotive grade wire for the power and ground connections.
3. Connect the ground wire to the amplifier's GND terminal. Locate a suitable grounding point on the car's chassis and use solder or a crimped ring terminal to secure the ground wire.
4. Pre-drill the chassis and bolt the ground ring terminal using a nut, bolt, and lock washer. Insulate the metal and connector with paint or silicone to prevent rust and oxidation.
5. Confirm that the ground connection is solid by grabbing the wire and connector.
6. For the remote wire, connect the power antenna output from the head unit to the REM terminal on the amplifier. If the head unit doesn't have a remote/antenna output, find a wire controlled by the accessory position of the key.
7. Connect the proper gauge power wire to the B+ terminal of the amplifier. Trace the power wire through the car to an in-line fuse or circuit breaker located no more than 18" from the battery.
8. Connect the in-line fuse or circuit breaker to the battery, ensuring that the fuse is not installed or the circuit breaker is not activated yet.
Note: It is recommended to ground the head unit and other electronic audio devices to the same location to prevent engine noise.
Please refer to the Power Connections section of the user manual for more detailed instructions and safety precautions.
