To connect microphones to the Aveek AK-70 5-Channel Audio Mixer, follow these steps:
1. Locate the [MIC/LINE] mono input jacks on the mixer. These jacks are only available for XLR input channels 1-3.
2. Use XLR cables to connect your microphones to the XLR input jacks. Make sure to match the XLR connectors on the microphones with the XLR input jacks on the mixer.
3. If you are using condenser microphones that require phantom power, make sure to turn on the [PAD +48V] switch/LED for the corresponding XLR input channels 1-3. This will provide DC+48V phantom power to the XLR plugs.
4. Adjust the [GAIN] xxxx for each XLR input channel 1-3 to set the basic volume level. You can increase or decrease the gain to achieve the desired volume.
5. If necessary, use the [PAD] switch for the corresponding XLR input channels 1-3 to attenuate the sound input. This can help prevent distortion or clipping if the input signal is too strong.
6. You can also use the [HPF] switch for the corresponding XLR input channels 1-3 to enable the high-pass filter. This will attenuate frequencies below 80 Hz, which can help reduce unwanted vibrations and breath sounds picked up by the microphone.
Please refer to the Aveek AK-70 5-Channel Audio Mixer Owner's Manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations on connecting microphones and using the mixer.
