To set up the Nady DW-22 Dual Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System, follow these steps:
1. Rack Mounting: If you plan to rack mount the receiver, use the optional RMT-1KUD rack tray. Ensure adequate airflow and heat dissipation in the rack configuration.
2. Powering the Receivers: Plug the AC/DC adapter provided into the DC input jack on the back of the receiver. Then, plug the power supply into an AC outlet. The power switch is located on the front panel of the receiver. Press it once to turn on the receiver.
3. Antennas: The DW-22 receivers come with attached antennas. Position them in the rack so they can be adjusted fully to obtain maximum range. Optimal antenna position is 45 degrees from the receiver and 90 degrees from each other.
4. Connecting the Audio Output: The DW-22 receivers provide both a fixed Mic level balanced XLR audio output and an adjustable line level unbalanced 1/4" jack audio output. Both outputs can be used simultaneously. Use the XLR output for balanced connections and the 1/4" output for unbalanced connections. Adjust the volume control for the line level output.
5. Microphone Connection: The DW-22 receivers have both XLR and 1/4" outputs. Choose the appropriate output for your setup. Plug an XLR connector into the XLR output socket on the rear of the unit and plug the other end into your amplifier or mixing board. If using the 1/4" unbalanced line output, start the receiver volume at 1/2 MAX and adjust until the volume level is optimal.
6. LED Display: The DW-22 receivers have LED indicators for monitoring signal strength and audio level. The AF LED indicator shows the audio present from the transmitter, and the RF LED display shows if the transmitter is in usable range.
7. Handheld Microphone Transmitter: To use the handheld microphone transmitter, unscrew the battery compartment cover and insert 2 fresh AA alkaline batteries. Turn on the transmitter by sliding the power switch to the ON position. The RF LED on the receiver should now be lit, indicating a received signal from the transmitter.
