To install the Honeywell 50608 Xerxes LED Ceiling Fan, please follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers.
2. Choose the appropriate mounting option for your ceiling: standard mount for ceilings 8 feet or higher, angle mount for angled or vaulted ceilings, or closemount installation for ceilings 8 feet or lower.
3. Select a suitable location for the fan, ensuring that the blades will be at least 30 inches from any obstructions and at least 7 feet above the floor.
4. Loosen all four mounting bracket screws and remove the two screws from the round holes in the canopy. Remove the mounting bracket from the canopy.
5. Install the mounting bracket to the outlet box using the screws and washers provided with the outlet box.
6. Remove the three fitter plate screws and packing material from the motor assembly. Discard the orange packing material.
7. For standard or angle mount installation, remove the downrod clip and downrod pin from the downrod. Partially loosen the set screws in the yoke at the top of the motor assembly.
8. Feed the fan wires through the yoke cover, canopy, and downrod. Slide the downrod into the yoke of the motor assembly and align the holes. Reinstall the downrod pin and downrod clip, securing them with the set screws.
9. Depending on the length of the downrod, you may need to cut the fan wires. Measure 8 inches of wire, cut off the excess, and strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the end of each wire strand.
10. Install the ball end of the downrod into the opening of the mounting bracket. Insert the receiver into the opening of the mounting bracket with the flat side facing up.
11. For closemount installation, remove the canopy cover from the bottom of the canopy. Remove the three Phillips-head closemount screws from the top of the motor assembly. Align the canopy with the holes in the top of the motor assembly and secure it with the closemount screws.
12. Connect the household supply and fan wires using wire connectors according to the provided diagram. Ensure the green wire from the downrod and mounting bracket is connected to the bare/green (ground) supply wire.
13. Align the canopy over the mounting bracket screws and rotate clockwise to secure it. Tighten all the mounting bracket screws securely.
14. Attach the blades to the blade arms using blade screws and caps. Insert the blade arms through the slots in the side of the motor assembly and secure them with motor screws.
15. Connect the fitter plate to the light kit using the provided screws. Connect the single-pin connector from the fitter plate to the single-pin connector from the light kit.
16. Attach the lens cover to the light kit by twisting it tightly in a clockwise direction.
17. Install the battery in the remote transmitter and replace the battery cover. If installed correctly, the LED indicator on the remote transmitter should illuminate when any button is pushed.
18. Optional: Install the wall bracket for the remote by inserting the screws through the bracket and into the wall. Hang the slot in the back of the remote over the top of the wall bracket.
19. Turn on the power to the fan at the breaker box and the wall switch. The installation is now complete.
