Installation of the Eccotemp ESH-4.0 Mini Tank Water Heater is relatively straightforward. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Choose a suitable location: Select a location for the mini tank water heater that is close to the point of use and easily accessible for maintenance. Ensure that the area is well-ventilated and has proper drainage.
2. Mounting the water heater: Use the provided mounting bracket and screws to securely attach the water heater to the wall. Make sure the bracket is level and properly aligned before tightening the screws.
3. Connect the water supply: Shut off the main water supply and drain any existing water from the pipes. Connect the cold water supply line to the inlet of the water heater using a suitable connector. Ensure that the connection is tight and leak-free.
4. Connect the hot water outlet: Connect the hot water outlet of the water heater to the desired point of use, such as a sink or shower. Again, use a suitable connector and ensure a secure and leak-free connection.
5. Electrical connection: Plug the power cord of the water heater into a standard 110V/120V outlet. Ensure that the outlet is properly grounded and can handle the wattage of the water heater.
6. Temperature and Pressure (T&P) relief valve: Install the provided T&P relief valve on the top of the water heater. This valve is crucial for releasing pressure and temperature buildup to prevent overpressure situations. Connect a suitable discharge pipe to the valve and direct it to a safe drainage area.
7. Turn on the water heater: Once all the connections are secure, turn on the water supply and check for any leaks. Open a hot water faucet to allow air to escape from the system. Then, turn on the power to the water heater.
8. Set the desired temperature: Use the temperature adjustment controls on the water heater to set the desired water temperature. The Eccotemp ESH-4.0 allows you to set the temperature between 90 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
9. Test the water heater: Wait for the water heater to heat up and check if hot water is being delivered to the desired point of use. Monitor the system for any leaks or malfunctions.
