To install the Fanimation FP6285B Aire Deluxe Ceiling Fan, follow these steps:
1. Read the instruction manual and review the assembly diagrams before starting the installation.
2. Before servicing or cleaning the fan, switch off the power at the service panel and lock the service panel disconnecting means to prevent accidental power switch-on.
3. Be cautious of the fan and blades when cleaning, painting, or working near the fan. Always turn off the power to the ceiling fan before servicing.
4. Do not insert anything into the fan blades while the fan is operating.
5. Do not operate the reversing switch until the fan blades have come to a complete stop.
6. Make sure the electricity is turned off at the fuse box before wiring and do not operate the fan without blades.
7. All wiring and installation procedures must comply with National Electrical Codes and Local Codes. The ceiling fan must be grounded as a precaution against electrical shock.
8. The fan base must be securely mounted and capable of supporting at least 35 lbs. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt.
9. The fan must be mounted with the fan blades at least 7 feet from the floor to prevent accidental contact with the blades.
10. Follow the recommended instructions for the proper method of wiring your ceiling fan. If you are not experienced, have a licensed electrician install the fan.
11. Use only light kits marked suitable for use in dry locations.
12. Make sure to use only the parts supplied with the fan or accessories designated specifically for use with this product. Using other parts or accessories could result in personal injury or property damage.
13. To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not bend the blade bracket when installing the brackets, balancing the blades, or cleaning the fan. Do not insert foreign objects between rotating fan blades.
14. Disconnect the electrical supply circuit to the fan before installing a light kit to reduce the risk of electric shock.
15. Follow the step-by-step assembly instructions provided in the manual, including attaching the hanger bracket to the outlet box, connecting the wires, assembling the canopy housing, attaching the blades to the blade holders, and installing the switch cup assembly/light kit assembly.
16. After installation, restore electrical power to the outlet box by turning on the electricity at the main fuse box.
17. Test the operation of the fan and light by pulling on the appropriate pull chains.
18. If airflow in the opposite direction is desired, turn off the fan, wait for the blades to stop turning, slide the reverse switch to the opposite position, and turn the fan on again.
