To connect the BTFDREEM HD016 Indoor Smart TV Antenna to your TV, follow these steps:
For HDTVs:
1. Check Your TV's Tuner: First, ensure that your TV is equipped with an HDTV tuner. Most modern HDTVs come with a built-in tuner. If you’re uncertain, check your TV’s specifications in the user manual.
2. Connect the Antenna to the TV:
- Insert the coaxial cable from the BTFDREEM HD016 antenna into the “Antenna In” or “RF In” port on the back of your HDTV.
3. Power the Antenna:
- Connect the USB cable from the antenna to an available USB port on your HDTV for power. If your TV does not have a USB port, you can use a USB wall adapter (not included).
4. Tune Your TV:
- Switch your TV’s input/source to “Antenna” or “Air.”
- Access your TV’s menu and select the option to “Scan for Channels” or “Channel Search.”
- Allow the TV to complete the scanning process.
5. Once the scan is complete, you should be able to access the channels that the antenna receives.
For Traditional TVs:
1. Acquire a Digital Converter Box: If your TV does not have an HDTV tuner (as is the case with many older traditional TVs), you will need a digital converter box. This box will convert the digital signal from the antenna into a format your traditional TV can display.
2. Connect the Antenna to the Converter Box:
- Plug the coaxial cable from the BTFDREEM HD016 antenna into the “Antenna In” or “RF In” port of the digital converter box.
3. Connect the Converter Box to the TV:
- Using a separate coaxial cable, connect the “Out to TV” port on the converter box to the “Antenna In” or “RF In” port on your traditional TV.
4. Power the Antenna and Converter Box:
- Connect the USB cable from the antenna to an available USB port on the converter box or use a USB wall adapter.
- Ensure the converter box is plugged into a power source and turned on.
5. Tune Your TV and Converter Box:
- Switch your TV’s input/source to “Antenna” or “Channel 3” depending on the converter box's instructions.
- Using the converter box's remote, access its menu and select the option to “Scan for Channels” or “Channel Search.”
- Once the scan is complete, you can use the converter box's remote to change channels and access the broadcasts the antenna receives.
