To install the August SL03-C02-G03 Smart Lock Connect Hub, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Before starting, confirm the compatibility of your deadbolt at august.com/compatibility.
2. Prepare your existing deadbolt by using the supplied adhesive strip to hold the keyed side of the lock in place.
3. Unscrew and remove the screws from your existing deadbolt thumbturn. If there is an additional back plate, remove that as well. Be sure to unlock your deadbolt before removing the thumb turn entirely.
4. Prepare the mounting plate by removing the screws from the thumbturn and inserting them into the front of the mounting plate. The mounting plate has two adjustable xxxx holes that can be repositioned as needed.
5. Attach the mounting plate to the door by tightening the screws by hand until the mounting plate is secured against the door.
6. Choose the correct adapter for your lock brand. If your lock brand is not listed in the compatibility chart, slide each adapter onto the tailpiece to find the right one. The correct adapter will have the small nub pointing up. Note that the adapters can be placed in the mounting plate backward, so if the shape is correct but it seems backward, try flipping the adapter around.
7. Attach the correct adapter to the tailpiece by placing it onto the tailpiece with the small nub pointing up.
8. Open the wing latches by pulling out both side wing latches to prepare for mounting.
9. Slide the August Smart Lock Pro over the tailpiece and attach it to the mounting plate. Make sure the back of the lock is flush with the door. To secure the August Smart Lock Pro, clamp down both side wing latches to the mounting plate completely.
10. Remove the faceplate by pressing down on the August logo located at the bottom of the faceplate. Grab the top of the faceplate and remove it.
11. Remove the battery tab while holding the batteries in place. Make sure that the battery is properly seated in its compartment.
12. Replace the faceplate by placing it back onto the August Smart Lock Pro, with the August logo at the bottom.
13. Install the DoorSense Sensor, which enables your lock to know when the door is open and closed. For instructions on installing the DoorSense Sensor, please refer to the link provided in the manual.
14. Use the August Home app to complete the setup. Download and install the August Home app, then select "Get Started" from the home screen or "Set Up a Lock" from the main menu.
