Programming user codes for the Kwikset 99540-002 Touchscreen Electronic Deadbolt is a straightforward process. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Ensure that the deadbolt is unlocked and the door is open.
2. Press the "Program" button on the interior assembly of the deadbolt. The "Program" button is located on the bottom right corner of the assembly.
3. Enter the default Mastercode. The default Mastercode can be found in the user manual or on a sticker on the back of the interior assembly.
4. Press the "Lock" button on the touchscreen.
5. Press the number "1" on the touchscreen.
6. Enter a new user code of your choice using the touchscreen keypad. The user code can be any combination of 4 to 8 digits.
7. Press the "Lock" button on the touchscreen to save the user code.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 to program additional user codes. You can program up to 30 customizable user codes.
9. Once you have programmed all the desired user codes, press the "Program" button on the interior assembly to exit programming mode.
