To set up the AcuRite Thermometer 02059, follow these steps:
1. Set the A-B-C switch: Inside the battery compartment of the wireless sensor, there is an A-B-C switch. Set this switch to a different letter choice for each sensor if you are synchronizing more than one.
2. Install or replace batteries: Slide off the battery compartment cover of the wireless sensor and take note of the A-B-C switch setting. Insert 2 x AA batteries into the battery compartment, following the polarity diagram. Repeat this step for additional sensors if applicable.
3. Install or replace batteries for the display: Remove the battery compartment cover of the display and insert 3 x AAA alkaline batteries, following the polarity diagram.
4. Set the time and units: Press and hold the "SET" button on the back of the display to enter SET MODE. Use the "" or "" buttons to adjust the currently selected item, such as clock hour, clock minute, or temperature units (ºF or ºC). Press and release the "SET" button again to save your adjustments and move to the next preference.
5. Place the display and wireless sensor: Proper placement of both the display and wireless sensor is important for accurate readings. The display should be placed in a dry area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The wireless sensor can be hung using the integrated hang holes or hanger, or placed indoors to measure environmental conditions.
