To set up the AcuRite 06106 Iris Weather Station with Mini Wireless, follow these steps:
1. Set the A-B-C switch: Locate the A-B-C switch inside the battery compartment of both the display and the sensor. Set the A-B-C switch to the same letter (A, B, or C) on both units to ensure synchronization.
2. Install or replace batteries: Remove the battery compartment cover on the display and insert 3 x AA batteries (not included) following the polarity diagram. Replace the battery cover. Use standard alkaline batteries or lithium batteries in the sensor when the temperature is below -4˚F/-20˚C.
3. Set the time, date, and units: Press and release the "SET" button on the back of the display to enter SET MODE. The currently selected preference will blink on the display. Use the " " or " " buttons to adjust the flashing item. Press and release the "SET" button again to save your adjustments and move to the next preference. The preference set order is: CLOCK HOUR, CLOCK MINUTE, CALENDAR MONTH, CALENDAR DATE, CALENDAR YEAR, UNITS SCALE (U.S. standard or metric).
4. Placement for maximum accuracy: Proper placement of both the display and the outdoor sensor is important for accurate readings. Place the display in a dry area free of dirt and dust. The outdoor sensor should be mounted a minimum of 5 ft in the air with no obstructions around it. Make sure both units are within 330 ft (100 m) of each other.
5. Synchronization: The sensor will synchronize with the display automatically. It may take a few minutes for synchronization to complete. If any issues arise, refer to the troubleshooting section of the manual.
