To set up the AcuRite 06044 Indoor Temperature Humidity Sensor, follow these steps:
1. Install or replace batteries: Slide off the battery compartment cover and insert 2 x AAA batteries into the battery compartment, following the polarity diagram. Replace the battery cover.
2. Set the A-B-C channel: The A-B-C button is located on the back of the sensor, above the battery compartment. Press and release the button to set the channel to A, B, or C, as shown on the sensor display's channel indicator. Note that if you are using a companion product with an A-B-C channel, you must select the same letter choice for both the sensor and the product it is being paired with for synchronization.
3. Placement for maximum accuracy: Proper placement of the sensor is crucial for accurate temperature and humidity measurements. Place the sensor in a dry area free of dirt and dust. Ensure that the sensor is out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources. It should be within 330 ft (100 m) of the companion unit for optimal wireless communication. Avoid placing the sensor near large metallic items, thick walls, or other objects that may limit wireless range. Additionally, keep the sensor at least 3 ft (0.9 m) away from electronic devices to prevent wireless interference.
