To set up the AcuRite 01201 Weather Station, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the contents of the package, including the display, outdoor sensor, power adapter, and instruction manual.
2. Remove the protective film from the LCD screen of the display.
3. Set the A-B-C switch on both the outdoor sensor and the display to the same letter (A, B, or C) to ensure synchronization.
4. Install or replace batteries in the outdoor sensor. Slide off the battery compartment cover, insert 2 x AA batteries following the polarity diagram, and replace the cover.
5. Set the A-B-C switch inside the battery compartment of the display to the same letter as the outdoor sensor.
6. Install or replace backup batteries (optional) in the display. Remove the battery compartment cover, insert 3 x AAA alkaline batteries following the polarity diagram, and replace the cover.
7. Plug in the power adapter for the display for optimal performance. Note that batteries are a backup power source in case of a power outage.
8. Set the time, date, and units by pressing and releasing the " " button on the display. Use the " " and " " buttons to adjust the settings, and press the " " button to save each adjustment.
9. Place the display in a dry area, either on a tabletop using the fold-out stand or wall-mount it using the integrated hang hole.
10. Place the outdoor sensor outside in a location protected from direct weather elements. Hang it using the integrated hanger or hang it from a suitable location using string.
11. Ensure that the display and outdoor sensor are within 330 ft (100 m) of each other for optimal wireless communication.
12. Wait a few minutes for the display and sensor to synchronize. It may take a few minutes for the outdoor temperature to display properly.
