To adjust the temperature on the Black + Decker F976 iron, follow these steps:
1. Locate the fabric select dial on the iron. It is usually located near the handle or on the top of the iron.
2. Turn the fabric select dial to the desired temperature setting. The temperature settings are usually labeled with fabric types or numbers. Refer to the fabric guide under the heel rest and read the garment's label to help you determine the appropriate setting for your fabric.
3. Wait for the iron to heat up to the selected temperature before ironing.
Note: The Smart Steam® system automatically produces steam when you turn the fabric select dial between settings 4 and 6. The higher the setting, the more powerful the steam.
