To install the Audio-Technica PRO 45 microphone, follow these steps:
1. Identify the desired location: Determine where you want to position the microphone for optimal sound pickup. The PRO 45 is typically suspended from a ceiling or mounting structure.
2. Attach the hanger: Use the included steel hanger to securely suspend the microphone. The hanger should be positioned inconspicuously over the sound source, such as a choir, orchestra, or stage.
3. Connect the cable: The PRO 45 comes with a permanently-attached miniature cable with an XLRM-type connector. Plug the XLRM connector into an XLRF-type jack or cable connector on your audio equipment.
4. Adjust the microphone angle: The PRO 45 features a pivot point that allows you to adjust the angle of the microphone. Twist the microphone housing slightly in its wire holder to orient it in the proper direction. Clockwise rotation moves the microphone to the right, while counterclockwise rotation moves it to the left.
5. Optional windscreen: If needed, slip the provided foam windscreen over the head of the microphone to reduce noise from wind or ventilation air currents.
6. Apply phantom power: The PRO 45 requires +48V phantom power to operate. Make sure your audio interface or mixer provides phantom power. Connect the phantom power supply to the appropriate input on your audio equipment.
7. Test and adjust: Once the microphone is installed, test the sound pickup and adjust the positioning if necessary. Experiment with the microphone's height and distance from the sound source to achieve the desired audio quality.
