To adjust the tweeters on the Proficient W800 In-Wall Speakers, follow these steps:
1. Start by reading the section titled "SPEAKER ADJUSTMENTS" in the owner's manual to familiarize yourself with the process.
2. The speakers come from the factory with the tweeters facing straight out from the baffle, which provides the smoothest response. However, you may find that adjusting the tweeters can enhance the sound based on your listening area, room acoustics, or personal preference.
3. If you desire additional treble in the primary listening area, gently push the edge of the tweeter to point it towards that area. If less treble is required, point the tweeter away.
4. It's important to note that you should avoid touching the metal dome tweeters (W680, W690, W800 & W850) to prevent any potential damage.
5. If you have the W680, W690, W800, or W850 models, there are additional adjustments available. The switch labeled "TREBLE" allows for 3dB of treble adjustment. By default, the switch is in the "-" position, providing the most linear frequency response. If you desire more treble, move the switch to the "+" position, and the tweeter will play 3dB higher. To return to the neutral setting, push the switch back to the "-" position.
6. For the same models mentioned above, there is also a switch labeled "BASS" that allows for 3dB of bass adjustment. The default setting is "-" for the flattest bass frequency response. If you desire more bass, push the switch to the "+" position, and the bass will play 3dB higher. To return to the neutral setting, push the switch back to the "-" position.
By following these steps, you can adjust the tweeters on the Proficient W800 In-Wall Speakers to optimize the sound according to your preferences and listening environment. For further assistance, refer to the owner's manual or contact Proficient Audio Systems' technical support team.
