Adjusting the phase of the ASM90920 BASS Augmentation System is a simple process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. After installing the speakers, select a track of music that has a lot of bass.
2. Leave the Phase switch in the position in which your speakers were shipped.
3. Arrange yourself in a position where you can easily access the Phase switch on the front of the speaker baffle.
4. Have a person in the location of the room which will be your primary listening area listen to the music for a reasonable amount of time.
5. While the track is still playing, flip the Phase switch to the other position.
6. Allow the person in the listening area to compare the two positions and determine which one provides the preferred music quality.
7. Whichever position is preferred by the listener is the correct position for you.
Note: If you didn't notice a change at all, then either position is correct for your setup.
