To set up the Bose SL2 Wireless Surround Link, follow these steps:
1. Unpack the carton and make sure you have all the necessary parts.
2. Set the switch on the bottom of the SL2 transmitter to "Other" if you are using it with an Acoustimass speaker system. For use with a LIFESTYLE system, the default switch setting is optimal.
3. Choose positions for the SL2 transmitter and receiver. They should be placed within 6.5 feet to 30 feet apart, with unobstructed sides for ventilation.
4. Connect the SL2 transmitter by using the supplied transmitter cable. Insert the single connector into the input jack labeled "Acoustimass Module" on the back of the transmitter. Connect the other end of the cable to the appropriate jacks on the Acoustimass module. Insert the cable end of the transmitter power pack into the small jack labeled "DC Power" on the back of the transmitter, and plug the power pack into an AC mains outlet.
5. Connect the SL2 receiver using the supplied cables. Insert the RCA connectors into the jacks on the back of the receiver, matching the colors. Connect the wire ends of the cable to your surround speakers, ensuring the correct polarity. Insert the cable end of the receiver power pack into the small jack labeled "DC Power" on the back of the receiver, and plug the power cord into an AC mains outlet.
6. Check the status LEDs on the rear of the SL2 transmitter and receiver. A blinking green LED indicates the units are trying to link, a solid orange LED indicates sleep mode, and a solid green LED indicates successful communication. If the LED is blinking red, there may be an issue with the receiver's temperature or the surround speaker cable connection.
7. Test the system by playing audio through your home theater system. Adjust the volume and settings as desired.
