The Rode NT3 can be powered by either phantom power or a 9-volt battery. Most professional mixing consoles include a 48v phantom power supply. If phantom power is not available on your equipment, you can use a 9-volt battery. To use battery power, unscrew the lower section of the microphone body to reveal the battery cavity. Insert a 9-volt battery, ensuring correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The microphone features a power indicator light that will notify you when the battery is running low. When using battery power, it is recommended to keep the microphone in the off position when not in use to save battery power. If phantom power is available, the microphone will not draw any power from the 9-volt battery.
