To switch between different pickup patterns on the Samson CL8A microphone, follow these steps:
1. Locate the pickup pattern selector switch on the microphone body. It is usually located near the microphone capsule.
2. The Samson CL8A microphone offers three pickup patterns: cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 (bidirectional). The cardioid pattern is ideal for isolating sound sources in front of the microphone, while the omnidirectional pattern captures sound equally from all directions. The figure-8 pattern captures sound from the front and back of the microphone, while rejecting sound from the sides.
3. To select the desired pickup pattern, slide the pickup pattern selector switch to the corresponding position. The switch usually has clear markings indicating the different patterns.
4. Once you have selected the desired pickup pattern, the microphone will now capture sound according to that pattern.
Note: Make sure to adjust the microphone placement and orientation based on the selected pickup pattern to achieve the best recording results.
