To select the recording mode on the Blue Yeti microphone, simply rotate the pattern selector xxxx located on the microphone. The Yeti offers four recording modes: stereo, cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional. Each mode is suited for different recording scenarios. In stereo mode, the microphone captures a realistic stereo image. In cardioid mode, it picks up sound directly in front of the microphone while minimizing sound from the sides and rear. Omnidirectional mode captures sound equally from all directions, making it ideal for recording group conversations or capturing room ambience. Bidirectional mode captures sound from the front and rear of the microphone while rejecting sound from the sides. Choose the recording mode that best suits your needs by rotating the pattern selector xxxx . For more information and suggested uses for each recording mode, refer to pages 12-19 of the user manual.
