To connect the Neumann TLM 49 Condenser Microphone to your audio equipment, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your audio equipment provides 48V phantom power in accordance with IEC 61938. This can be a power supply unit, a microphone preamplifier, a mixing console, or any other equipment with phantom power.
2. Use a suitable cable to connect the microphone to the microphone input of your audio equipment. The Neumann TLM 49 uses an XLR3F connector.
3. Ensure that the connectors are locked correctly when connecting the cables.
4. Address the microphone from the side where the Neumann logo is located.
5. Gradually increase the volume of the connected equipment.
6. Set the gain of the connected equipment so that no distortion occurs at the highest sound pressure level.
It is important to note that an incorrect supply voltage can damage the microphone, so make sure to use the appropriate equipment with 48V phantom power. For more detailed information, refer to the "Connecting the microphone" section in the Neumann TLM 49 Condenser Microphone Operating Manual.
