Connecting the SPT SD-2224DW dishwasher to your kitchen faucet is a simple process. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Make sure the dishwasher is properly positioned on a level surface near your kitchen sink.
2. Turn off the water supply at the faucet.
3. Remove the faucet aerator by unscrewing it counterclockwise. Keep the aerator in a safe place for reinstallation later.
4. Take the provided faucet adapter and check if your faucet is "female" or "male" type. If your faucet is "female" type, install both rubber washers inside the faucet adapter. If your faucet is "male" type, use only one rubber washer and remove the second one.
5. xxxx the faucet adapter onto (or into) your kitchen faucet. Make sure it is securely tightened. You can use Teflon or plumber tape to eliminate any leaks if necessary.
6. Connect the six-sided connection of the drain hose to the dishwasher's drain port, located on the back of the dishwasher cabinet. Do not over-tighten.
7. Connect the star-shaped connection of the inlet hose to the dishwasher's inlet port, also located on the back of the dishwasher cabinet. Do not over-tighten.
8. Connect the circular connection of the drain hose to the longer (bottom) male connection on the Quick Connect assembly.
9. Connect the circular connection of the inlet hose to the shorter (top) male connection on the Quick Connect assembly.
10. Attach the Quick Connect assembly onto the Faucet Adapter. Pull down on the locking collar while pushing the Quick Connect assembly upwards onto the Faucet Adapter.
11. Release the locking collar when the Quick Connect assembly snaps onto the Faucet Adapter. Verify that the connection is secure.
12. Slowly turn on the water supply at the faucet and check for any signs of water leaks at all connections. If leaks are found, immediately turn off the water supply and repair the hose connections.
13. Once the water supply is turned on, the inlet hose will be pressurized. To relieve the water pressure, press and hold the red pressure relief button on the Quick Connect assembly until the flow of water stops.
14. Your SPT SD-2224DW dishwasher is now connected to your kitchen faucet and ready to use.
