It is recommended to test the CO605 carbon monoxide alarm once a week to ensure it is working properly. To test the alarm, simply press the Test/Silence button on the cover until the alarm sounds. During testing, you will hear a loud alarm sequence of 4 beeps, a pause, and then 4 beeps again. The alarm sequence should last 5-6 seconds. If the alarm does not sound during testing, make sure the unit is fully plugged into an unswitched outlet and replace it immediately if it still does not alarm. Regular testing is important to ensure the alarm is functioning correctly and providing the necessary protection against carbon monoxide.
