To install the Panini ID-1 Single Feed Check Scanner, please follow these steps:
1. Do not connect the device to your PC before installing the device drivers. If the device is connected before installing the drivers, it will not operate correctly.
2. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Operator Manual for the device installation instructions.
3. Unpack the scanner unit from the packaging and ensure that all parts are included. The packaging should include the Panini ID-1 scanner unit, power supply, USB cable, Operator Manual CD, Quick Guide, and optional Franking Roller.
4. Choose a suitable location for the scanner. Place it on a level surface near your computer, away from direct light, and ensure there is enough space to open the pocket flaps and top cover.
5. Connect the power cable by plugging it into the power connector on the scanner. Connect the other end of the power cable to a dedicated electrical power outlet.
6. Connect the USB cable to the USB port located on the rear side of the scanner. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB 2.0 port on your PC.
7. Windows will detect the newly connected hardware and initiate the "New Hardware Wizard". The device drivers should be recognized and installed automatically if they were preinstalled on your PC. If not, you can install the drivers by directly installing Panini's Vision API.
8. If you have the optional Franking Roller, you can install it by following the instructions in the Operator Manual. Open the top cover and franking cover, insert the Franking Roller into the roller harness, align the notch with the positioning tab, and apply pressure until it clicks into place. Close the franking cover and top cover.
9. Once everything is connected and installed, you can start using the Panini ID-1 Single Feed Check Scanner for check scanning and processing.
Note: If you encounter any issues during installation or operation, refer to the Troubleshooting section of the Operator Manual or contact the manufacturer's technical support for assistance.
