To install the VEVOR HPN-600GK2306 Waterproof Landscape Lighting Transformer, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Preparing the Cable:
- Carefully split the landscape wire insulation without exposing the copper wire.
- Remove 1/2 inch of insulation from both wires and twist the ends.
2. Connecting the Cable to the Transformer:
- Lay the transformer on a flat and stable surface.
- Insert the stripped end of one wire under the terminal clamping plate labeled "COM".
- Repeat the above step for the terminal clamping plate labeled "12V" or "14V".
- Gently pull on the landscape wire to ensure a strong connection.
3. Placing Your Fixtures and Routing the Cable:
- Lay out your fixtures in the desired locations, ensuring they do not exceed the transformer's rating.
- Route the low-voltage cable to the fixtures.
- If there is excess cable, coil it after the last fixture.
- Important: Leave a minimum of 10 feet (3m) of wire between the power pack and the first fixture to reduce the risk of fire.
4. Attaching Your Fixtures:
- Turn on the transformer.
- Attach your fixtures to the cable using cable connectors.
- Place one connector on each side of the cable and press them together to lock.
- The prongs on the connectors will pierce the cable to establish contact and light up the fixtures.
5. Mounting the Transformer:
- Use the included screws to mount the transformer directly to a wall surface.
- Ensure the mounting location is within 39 inches to 59 inches (1m to 1.5m) from the ground.
- Hang the transformer onto the screws.
6. Mounting the Photocell:
- Mount the photocell bracket on a solid surface, such as a wall.
- Snap the sensor into the bracket.
- Route or coil the excess wire to protect it from potential damage.
- Avoid pointing the sensor at nighttime light sources like windows, porch lights, or street lights.
- Adjust the location, position, and orientation of the photocell to achieve the desired light level.
7. Protecting or Hiding the Cable:
- Once all fixtures are in place and you are satisfied with their locations, cover the cable with mulch or bury it up to 6 inches (15 cm) deep.
- Leave approximately 12 inches (30 cm) of cable after the last fixture.
- Important: Do not coil the cable around the transformer, and ensure the total bulb wattages do not exceed the maximum power of the transformer.
