To install the AIDA Electrical Outlet Tamper-Resistant Receptacle, please follow the steps below:
1. Turn off the power: Before starting the installation, turn off the power to the circuit you will be working on. Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and switch off the corresponding circuit.
2. Remove the existing outlet: If there is an existing outlet in place, carefully remove the faceplate and unscrew the outlet from the electrical box. Disconnect the wires from the old outlet.
3. Prepare the wires: Strip the insulation from the ends of the wires, exposing about 1/2 inch of bare copper. If necessary, use wire strippers to remove the insulation.
4. Connect the wires: Connect the black (hot) wire to the brass-colored xxxx terminal on the new receptacle. Connect the white (neutral) wire to the silver-colored xxxx terminal. If there is a bare copper or green wire, connect it to the green xxxx terminal for grounding.
5. Mount the receptacle: Carefully tuck the wires into the electrical box, ensuring they are not pinched or damaged. Align the receptacle with the xxxx holes on the electrical box and use the provided mounting screws to secure it in place.
6. Install the faceplate: Attach the faceplate to the receptacle using the included screws. Ensure that it is aligned properly and securely fastened.
7. Restore power: Once the receptacle is securely installed, turn the power back on by switching on the circuit breaker or replacing the fuse.
It is important to note that if you are not experienced with electrical work, it is recommended to hire a qualified electrician to install the receptacle for you. Safety should always be a priority when working with electricity.
