To pair the Opticon OPN-2002 scanner with your device using Bluetooth, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure your device has Bluetooth capabilities and is turned on.
2. On the OPN-2002 scanner, hold down the Clear/Function key for five seconds until it beeps and the LED starts flashing blue. This puts the scanner in pairing mode.
3. On your device, open the Bluetooth settings and start the scanning or pairing process. The scanner should appear in the list of available devices.
4. Select the OPN-2002 scanner from the list. If prompted for a PIN code, enter the last four characters of the OPN2002's Bluetooth name. For example, if the Bluetooth name is OPN2002_2C83, the PIN code is 2C83 (case sensitive). If your device does not allow alpha characters in a PIN code, you can set the PIN code to 0000 by scanning the provided barcode.
5. Once the pairing is successful, the OPN-2002 scanner will emit a beep, and the blue LED will start flashing at a slower rate.
6. To use the scanner with a specific application, open a program that can access serial ports (such as Microsoft HyperTerminal) and open the outgoing Bluetooth COM port. This will establish a connection between the scanner and the application.
Note: If you prefer to convert the incoming serial data into keyboard data, Opticon provides a free utility called OpticonRL. This software acts as a software wedge and can be downloaded from the Opticon website.
