Installation of the Asani LD-3008B Tamper Resistant GFI Receptacle involves the following steps:
1. Turn off the power: Before starting the installation, turn off the power to the circuit you will be working on from the main electrical panel.
2. Remove the existing receptacle: Unscrew the wall plate and remove the existing receptacle from the electrical box. Take note of the wiring connections.
3. Connect the wires to the new receptacle: The LD-3008B offers two installation options: Quick-wire Push-In and Side Wiring.
- Quick-wire Push-In: Strip about 3/4 inch of insulation from the end of the wires. Insert the stripped wires into the corresponding color-coded holes on the back of the receptacle. Ensure the wires are fully inserted and secure.
- Side Wiring: Loosen the terminal screws on the sides of the receptacle. Strip about 3/4 inch of insulation from the end of the wires. Wrap the stripped wire clockwise around the terminal screws and tighten them securely.
4. Secure the receptacle: Carefully push the wires back into the electrical box, ensuring there is enough space for the receptacle. Align the xxxx holes on the receptacle with the holes on the electrical box. Use the provided mounting screws to secure the receptacle in place.
5. Attach the wall plate: Place the included wall plate over the receptacle and align the xxxx holes. Use the provided screws to attach the wall plate to the receptacle.
6. Restore power and test: Once the installation is complete, turn the power back on from the main electrical panel. Test the functionality of the GFI receptacle by pressing the "Test" button. The power should be cut off, indicating that the GFI is working correctly. Press the "Reset" button to restore power.
Please note that these are general installation instructions. It is recommended to consult the provided installation manual or seek assistance from a licensed electrician for specific guidance and to ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards.
