To transfer photos from the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX5V to your computer, you can follow these steps:
1. Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The USB port on the camera is located on the side, under a protective cover.
2. Turn on the camera and set it to the playback mode by rotating the mode dial to the "Play" icon.
3. On your computer, open the file explorer or finder and navigate to the location where you want to save the photos.
4. On the camera's LCD screen, select the playback menu by pressing the "Menu" button and navigate to the "USB Connect" option.
5. Select the "Mass Storage" option to enable the camera to be recognized as a removable storage device by your computer.
6. Your computer should detect the camera as a removable storage device and display it in the file explorer or finder. Open the camera's storage folder.
7. Inside the camera's storage folder, you will find the folders containing your photos. Copy and paste or drag and drop the desired photos to the location on your computer.
Note: If your computer does not detect the camera as a removable storage device, you may need to install the Sony PlayMemories Home software. The software can be downloaded from the Sony support website.
Additionally, you can also remove the memory card from the camera and use a memory card reader to transfer the photos directly from the memory card to your computer.
