1. Unpack the printer: Remove all packaging materials and protective tapes from the printer.
2. Power on the printer: Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into a power outlet. Press the power button to turn on the printer.
3. Install the toner cartridge: Open the front cover of the printer and remove the protective cover from the new toner cartridge. Insert the toner cartridge firmly into the printer until it clicks into place.
4. Load paper: Adjust the paper guides in the paper tray to fit the size of the paper you are using. Load the paper into the tray, making sure it is aligned properly.
5. Connect the printer to your computer: Depending on your computer's operating system, you can connect the printer using a USB cable or an Ethernet cable.
- USB connection: Connect one end of the USB cable to the printer and the other end to an available USB port on your computer. The necessary drivers will be installed automatically.
- Ethernet connection: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the printer and the other end to an available Ethernet port on your router or network switch. The printer will obtain an IP address automatically.
6. Install the printer drivers: If the printer drivers are not installed automatically, you can download them from the Brother website. Visit the Brother support page, search for your printer model (DCP-8110DN), and download the appropriate drivers for your operating system. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.
7. Test the connection: Once the drivers are installed, you can test the connection by printing a test page. Open a document on your computer and select "Print." Choose the Brother DCP-8110DN as the printer and click "Print." If the printer successfully prints the document, the connection is established.
