To connect the Canon PIXMA MX870 to a wireless network, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your wireless network is set up and functioning properly.
2. Turn on the printer and navigate to the "Setup" menu on the printer's control panel.
3. Use the arrow keys to select "Wireless LAN Setup" and press the "OK" button.
4. Select "Standard Setup" and press "OK" to start the setup process.
5. The printer will search for available wireless networks. Select your network from the list and press "OK."
6. If your network is password-protected, enter the Wi-Fi password using the alphanumeric keypad on the printer's control panel. Press "OK" when finished.
7. The printer will attempt to connect to the wireless network. Once connected, a confirmation message will appear on the screen.
8. To verify the wireless connection, you can print a network setup page. From the "Setup" menu, select "Print LAN Details" and press "OK."
9. The network setup page will provide information about the printer's wireless connection, including the network name (SSID) and IP address.
