To pair the FLIR JCU3 Joystick Control with a thermal camera, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your PC or laptop is connected to the same network as the camera and joystick control.
2. Ensure that your PC or laptop is configured to detect UPnP devices. In Windows 7, 8, and 10, go to the Network and Sharing Center and select the option to Turn on network discovery.
3. The JCU3 joystick control will be automatically added to the list of devices on your PC or laptop. It will be named according to the keypad part number and serial number.
4. Double-click on the JCU3 keypad item to open the keypad's web page. Alternatively, you can right-click on the keypad item and select Properties to view more information, including its IP address.
5. On the login screen, enter "user" for both the Username and Password fields, then click Login. The JCU configuration page will be displayed.
6. In the left-hand menu, click on "CAMERAS" to access the camera pairing page.
7. Click on "Discover" to find all compatible cameras that are on the same network as the JCU3. The discovered cameras will be listed in the left-hand list called "DISCOVERED CAMERAS."
8. Select the camera you want to pair with the JCU3 from the "DISCOVERED CAMERAS" list and click "Add->". The keypad's LED backlight will flash twice to indicate successful pairing. The camera will now be moved to the "SELECTED CAMERAS" list.
9. Repeat step 8 for any additional cameras you want to pair with the JCU3.
10. Optionally, before leaving the JCU3 Configuration pages, you can manually connect to one of the cameras in the "SELECTED CAMERAS" list to confirm that you can control the camera with the JCU3 keypad. In the Camera Connect list, highlight the camera you want to connect to and click "Select." The JCU3 keypad will connect to the camera, allowing you to control it.
11. When you have finished pairing cameras and testing connections, click the Logout button at the top-right of the page, then close your web browser.
